When checked, the value in the "Find" field is interpreted not as plain text but as a JavaScript regular expression — e.g. \d+ matches all digit groups, ^\s+ matches leading whitespace on each line.

The tool won't crash — if you enter an invalid regular expression, an error message is shown and no replacement is made; you can fix it and try again.

Only the first match is replaced; the rest of the text stays unchanged.
