Frequently Asked Questions
In the Turkish format the dot is the thousands separator and the comma is the decimal separator:
1,234.56 (typed as 1.234,56). You can also type it without dots: 1234,56 or simply 1234.In Turkish, a lone "bir" (one) is dropped before hundreds and thousands: 100 → yüz (not "bir yüz"), 1000 → bin (not "bir bin"). But it's kept for million/billion/trillion: 1,000,000 → bir milyon (one million).
The decimal part is rounded to the nearest kuruş (1/100 TL) and read as a whole number — 1,234.56 → "...elli altı kuruş" (fifty-six kuruş). If rounding overflows to 100 kuruş (e.g. 100.999), the TL part is automatically incremented.
It only appears in "Amount in words" mode and converts the result to the fully-uppercase style commonly used when filling out checks/promissory notes (following Turkish İ/I casing rules).
This tool produces correct results up to the trillions (up to 999,999,999,999,999); larger inputs show a warning.
